Pampanga, Farm Fresh-Letran seal berths in ‘Laban ng Kampeon’


Pampanga Pradera Theme Park and Farm Fresh-Letran secured the last two spots in the ‘Laban ng Kampeon’ after sweeping their opponents on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Pampanga completed an 11-game sweep of the Pilipinas Super League 18-Under Luzon Leg by defeating Quezon, 78-67.

Meanwhile, the Milkers dominated EZ Jersey-Doc Boleros to become champions of the NCR Leg with a score of 115-83.

These two teams will join the Mindanao champions, Cagayan de Oro Higalas B, Max Ballers Davao, and Visayas champions, Sherilin Khalifa City of Naga, in the national finals of the tournament. The event is supported by J Project Clothings, MDC, Bluesky Advertising, NET 25, Wcube Solutions Inc., Hotel SOGO, Converge, and Foton.

The round-robin finale will take place from July 23 to 30 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in Pampanga.

Dwyne Miranda, a standout from FEU-Diliman, led Pampanga with 15 points in the clinching game. Veejay Pre, another player from Baby Tamaraws, contributed a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Rhyle Melencio, committed to De La Salle University, added 14 points.

On the other hand, Farm Fresh-Letran also won Game 1 of their Leg Finals with a score of 93-77. George Diamante led their team with 18 points and 6 rebounds.

Ricardo Golez scored 15 points coming off the bench, and Jonathan Manalili contributed 12 points for Farm Fresh-Letran. Other players in double figures for the Milkers were Syrex Silorio (11 points), Daniel Padilla (11 points), and Timo Cruz (10 points).

Renz Apor stood out for Quezon with 22 points, while Mowell Morales was limited to just 8 points on 3-of-12 shooting. However, Morales grabbed 16 rebounds.

Markkian Danag and Mark Derick Cruz scored 22 points and 16 points, respectively, for Doc Boleros. Cruz also grabbed 10 rebounds.
