Team B5-NLEX conquered the PBA Season 48 Draft Combine mini tournament following a 78-71 come-from-behind win over Team A2-Phoenix Super LPG in the Final, Wednesday at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.
Raymond Binuya finished with a game-high 21 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter alone where the crew hit 11 straight points to break a 61-all deadlock and eventually complete the rally after being down by double digits early.
Archie Concepcion produced 14 points, while Jayson Apolonio chimed in 11 points to support their Pampanga Giant Lanterns teammate as the MPBL troika helped Team B5 bag home the P50,000 top prize.
Concepcion won Draft Combine MVP honors to lead the Mythical Five, which also had Apolonio, former Ginebra PBA On Tour player Ralph Cu, and the Mapua tandem of Adrian Nocum, and Warren Bonifacio.
Meanwhile, former FEU Tamaraw Brandrey Bienes and JC Cullar from the College of St. Benilde finished with 13 points apiece to lead Team A2.
Former Letran Knights forward King Caralipio supplied 12 points, while another ex-Cardinal in Christian Bunag added 10 points in the loss, where the squad settled for the Php 25,000 runner-up purse.
