UP overcomes FEU, faces twice-to-beat UST for a chance at the finals
The day opened to the step-ladder matchup between struggling favorites UP and tournament dark horse FEU. Both teams were looking for the ticket to the afternoon match-up with second seed UST.

Christian Victorio would come up big in the opening match, narrowly edging FEU’s Victor Dalut, 3-2. Francis Igno would equalize following another five set nailbiter with Ralph Chua. The duo of Kenth Caballero and Christian Villanueva would tilt things in favor for FEU, edging UP’s doubles personnel Marco Eludo and Ray Lamayan, 3-2, in the doubles match. Things however would go awry for the Tamaraws from then on. Jobert Borja would rout Abner Osorno in three sets in the fourth match, forcing the fifth encounter. With momentum on his side, Jeferson de Jesus would complete another dominant performance, routing Christian de Guzman in three sets to grab the afternoon matchup with UST.
