Submission Sport Philippines’ Roy “Pilipino Badboy” Doliguez will get first dibs at the inaugural ONE World Strawweight Championship, as he takes on Thai and Evolve MMA’s Dejdamrong sor Amnuaysirichoke on May 22, 2015, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Kallang, Singapore.
33 year old native of Sarangani, Roy Doliguez has only been in MMA for four years, but has compiled a 6-1 record. Prior to signing with ONE Championship, Doliguez has made the rounds in the premiere leagues in the country as he competed in both the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) and the Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC).
The “Pilipino Badboy” had a 4-1 record in the URCC with his sole loss coming from Dennis “the Dynamite” Salazar in a decision loss. Almost two years since that loss, Doliguez and Salazar faced off yet again, this time under the PXC banner. Doliguez dominated Salazar in three rounds to take a unanimous decision victory. Prior to competing in mixed martial arts, Roy Doliguez was a professional boxer. Doliguez made his professional boxing debut in the year 2000. In 2003, Roy Doliguez became the number one contender for the WBO World Super Flyweight championship, and challenged champion Fernando Montiel in Sinaloa, Mexico. Doliguez lost the match via TKO at the 2:12 mark of the second round.
In his nine year boxing career, the record of Doliguez stood at 18(KO11)-19-9.
His opponent, the 36 year old Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, is unbeaten in his MMA career. He finished all four of his professional MMA fights. His last fight was against Full Contact International’s Rene Catalan (0-2-1) during ONE Championships’ Warrior’s Way event, last December 5, 2014 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
