One last hurrah: Valdez to join Ateneo for AUG

Three-time UAAP MVP Alyssa Valdez will get one more chance to represent her beloved Ateneo de Manila University after confirming her participation in the ASEAN University Games in Singapore.

“Yes. She (Valdez) will be coming with them (Ateneo) and they’ll be leaving tommorrow,” confirmed Ateneo team manager Tony Boy Liao.

The AUG will take place from July 11 to 18. The Lady Eagles won the bronze in the tournament when they last participated in 2014.

Also joining the Lady Eagles for the tournament are Michelle Morente, who sat out UAAP 78 due to academic difficulties, and Ana Gopico, who last played for Ateneo in UAAP 76 when she suffered an ACL injury.

The Phenom led Ateneo to their third straight UAAP Finals appearance only to lose in three games to the De La Salle University Lady Spikers.
