Olsen Racela will bring a familiar face to be his lead deputy at University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
The former FEU Tamaraws head coach has enlisted Richard del Rosario as his lead deputy for the upcoming NCAA Season 100 tournament.
Racela and Del Rosario also collaborate as assistants to Tim Cone in Ginebra San Miguel.
This marks Del Rosario’s return to the Grand Old League after coaching the College of Saint Benilde from 2009 to 2012.
The Blazers did not make the Final Four during those years.
Also part of Racela’s staff are coaches Joshua del Rosario, Jamel Lipae, Gerald Dizon, Junior Altas head coach Joph Cleopas, and former Altas head coach Myk Saguiguit.
“I like what I’m seeing, maraming material players and I like the program na from high school to college headed by coach Joph and coach Myk, I see a lot of potential players from high school to seniors team,” Racela said.
“Maganda ang lineup and I’m really hoping that we can compete in this coming NCAA season.”
Former Altas cagers Anton Tamayo and Scottie Thompson are part of the team’s management staff.
Perpetual missed the Final Four last season, finishing in fifth place with a 10-8 record.
