Calvin Oftana is headed to TNT.
The Tropang Giga will figure in a three-way trade with NLEX and Blackwater in a transaction that will involve six players.
Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
TNT will also receive Raul Soyud while letting go of Troy Rosario and Gab Banal.
Rosario and Banal will then head to Blackwater.
NLEX, meanwhile, will receive Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser and Paul Desiderio.
2020 Draft Haul Complete
Oftana, the third overall pick in the 2020 PBA Rookie Draft, averaged 17.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game last conference.
Ironically, he is now teaming up with Mikey Williams, who was the fourth overall pick in the same draft — a pick previously owned by NLEX before figuring in a three-team trade with the same two teams they are in a transaction with for this deal.
Soyud, meanwhile, is a 6-foot-6 big man who flourished under former Road Warriors head coach Yeng Guiao.
Rosario Goes to Blackwater
A what if will be answered for Blackwater in this trade as it gets Troy Rosario.
Back in 2015, the then-Elite shipped the first overall pick to TNT. In possession of both the top and second overall picks, they decided to get Mo Tautuaa and Troy Rosario.
Last conference, Rosario was battling numerous injuries. Still, he put up numbers of 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Banal, meanwhile, will play for his third team in a span of a year.
BGR Heads to NLEX
Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser was the first overall pick in the last draft.
In his first conference, the burly big man averaged 11.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Desiderio is out for the year due to an ACL tear. Ironically, he was selected as the fourth overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft before being shipped to Blackwater.
The trade is still pending league approval.
