OCR Pilipinas won the last two events and completed a sweep of all six gold medals at stake in obstacle course racing in the 30th Southeast Asian Games, Friday at Filinvest in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Mervin Guarte clocked 25 minutes and 31 seconds, while compatriot Mohammad Sherwin Managil clocked 26:26. The Filipinos finished 1-2 in the men’s individual 5Kx20 event.
The Philippines also had a 1-2 finish in the women’s side, with Sandi Menchi Abahan winning 33:30 and Glorien Merisco clocking 40 minutes for the silver.
Malaysian Mohd Pittli Mohd Saddan settled for the bronze in the men’s division in 28:02. Meanwhile, Sorvimane Khamla of Laos clinched third spot in the women’s category in 55:27.
The Philippine obstacle team on Wednesday won the men’s individual 100Mx10 courtesy of Kevin Pascua and the women’s event through Rochelle Suarez.
Kyle Antolin, Kaizen Dela Serna, Monolito Divina, and Deanne Nicole Moncada beat Malaysia to rule the mixed team assist 400m12 event. On the other hand, Diana Buhler, Jeffrey Reginio, Klymille Rodriguez, and Nathaniel Sanchez beat Malaysia for the gold in the mixed team relay 400mx12.
