NU targets back-to-back ‘double crowns’ as UAAP Taekwondo kicks off at NAS

NATIONAL University begins its quest for another double championship on Monday in the UAAP Season 87 Taekwondo Tournaments at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

In the collegiate men’s division, the Bulldogs are targeting an impressive six-peat, bringing them one step closer to matching the UST Tiger Jins’ record of seven consecutive titles from Seasons 65 to 71 (2002–2008).

Under the guidance of head coach Carlos Padilla, the Bulldogs boast a powerhouse lineup for their title defense.

Reigning MVP and featherweight standout Nuisar Lao returns for his third year, joined by seasoned competitors Sturdy Gabuena and Carl Ayaton.
