Decorated high school basketball head coach Goldwin Monteverde has been promoted by National University to handle their men’s basketball team.
Multiple sources told Tiebreaker Times about the development, which the university later confirmed through its social media accounts.
Monteverde replaces Jamike Jarin, who tallied an 11-31 slate during his three year run in NU.
This comes in the wake of Monteverde’s resignation from MPBL club team Batangas-Tanduay Athletics. He cited the desire to focus on the NU Bullpups in their ongoing UAAP Season 82 Boys’ Basketball campaign.
With this, Monteverde will most likely handle both the men’s and boys’ programs of the school.
Last season, Monteverde swept almost every major high school basketball tournaments — capped by winning the UAAP and NBTC tournaments.
He also previously mentored Chiang Kai Shek and Adamson University.
