NU seniors to have one last run with Lady Bulldogs

National University will have its seniors back for the school’s title-retention bid in the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament.

Finals Most Valuable Player and team captain Cess Robles, reigning Best Libero Jennifer Nierva, middle blocker Ivy Lacsina, and setter Joyme Cagande will all play out their final year of eligibility for a chance to give the Lady Bulldogs their second consecutive title.

Robles and Lacsina had links to signing with a powerhouse Premier Volleyball League team. However, both ultimately decided to have one last run with the Lady Bulldogs.

The school’s official Facebook page made the announcement on Monday afternoon.

NU recently made history after ending a 65-year title drought via a 16-0 sweep of the UAAP Season 85.

The Lady Bulldogs manhandled the De La Salle University Lady Spikers to clinch the first tournament sweep in the UAAP since Ateneo in Season 77.

NU will enter the Season 85 tournament armed with an 18-game winning streak.
