After getting the commitments of National University Nazareth School standouts Reinhard Jumamoy, RJ Colonia (NBTC no. 17), and Pervy Timbang, NU was able to complete the seniors batch on Thursday.
The Bulldogs obtained the commitments of senior big men 6-foot-7 Kurt Perciano and 6-8 Drex Delos Reyes.
“Yun talaga yung goal ng program namin na lahat ng juniors, aangat sa seniors,” said Bulldogs head coach Jeff Napa, who is also an active consultant to the Bullpups program.
The two are expected to backstop center Omar John and versatile forwards Mike Malonzo, Jolo Manansala, and PJ Palacielo.
Perciano started 13 games in Nazareth School-NU’s finals run in UAAP Season 85, averaging 6.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
Former Letran Squire Delos Reyes, meanwhile, will get his first taste of the big leagues when they both become eligible for the blue-and-gold in Season 86 men’s basketball.
Napa and big man coach Danny Ildefonso will be hands-on in the development of the two.
“Si Coach Danny ang bahala sa kanila. Tiwalang-tiwala naman ako sa kanya na maturuan sila at sa kanila na matuto sa kanya,” said Napa.
Last season, the Bulldogs entered the Final Four for the first time since 2015. They earned a 9-5 record before falling to eventual runner-up University of the Philippines. They hope to end their nine-year title drought the next time around.
