National University is bringing back Norman Miguel as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Bullpups.
The school made the announcement on Monday.
Miguel, the head coach of the Lady Bulldogs from Seasons 81 to 82, replaces Karl Dimaculangan as head coach of the women’s volleyball team and Villet Ponce-De Leon as chief tactician of the girls’ volleyball team.
Dimaculangan and Ponce-De Leon will still be part of the staff of NU’s volleyball program.
Coming off a long stint with De La Salle University’s men’s volleyball team, Miguel was brought in to replace Babes Castillo as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs.
In UAAP Season 81, NU finished with a 4-10 record.
During that time, Regine Diego was the head coach of the Lady Bullpups.
Prior to UAAP Season 84, NU reshuffled its ranks, letting go of Miguel and Diego and tapping Dimaculangan and his staff.
Dimaculangan steered NU to 65-year ending skid women’s volleyball crown in Season 84 via a 16-game sweep of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Ponce-De Leon guided the Lady Bullpups to the top of Season 85.
Same could not be said about Dimaculangan as the Lady Bulldogs finished second in the women’s volleyball tournament.
Miguel will now get to settle some unfinished business in NU.
