Noy Remogat ready to lead UP as JD Cagulangan passes the baton

With one Mythical Team member graduating from University of the Philippines, another is ready to step in for UAAP Season 88.

UAAP Season 86 Mythical Team member Noy Remogat is ready to fill the shoes left by Season 87 team guard JD Cagulangan.

Remogat knows that it’s a tall order, but the 5-foot-10 guard has already embraced the pressure that comes with it.

“Wala naman expectation pero yun nga, laging sinasabi sa amin na sa buhay, lagi namang may pressure,” Remogat shared with Tiebreaker Times after UP’s championship win last Sunday.

“Nasa kung paano mo yun iha-handle.”

During his second year at the University of the East, Remogat averaged 16.5 points, 7.86 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.

It was these impressive numbers that caught the attention of UP, which he joined earlier this year.

For the past few months, Remogat has been part of the Team B squad, helping the Fighting Maroons prepare for the season.

This allowed him to share the joy when UP defeated La Salle in the epic three-game finale of this season’s UAAP men’s basketball finals.

“Sobrang sarap sa feeling. Siyempre sa training sama-sama kami so parang kung ano yung nafi-feel nila ngayon, nafi-feel ko rin,” Cagulangan said.

“Siyempre, iba pa rin yung sa kanila ngayon.”

Seeing his teammates win the UAAP championship serves as inspiration for Remogat to lead UP to a back-to-back title in Season 88.

“Siguro gagawin kong motivation ko lang yun para sa next year at mapagpatuloy ko yung nasimulan nila ngayon.”
