27-year-old Nosa Omorogbe, after serving as the assistant coach a season ago, has been promoted to head coach of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas, as multiple sources closely monitoring the situation told Tiebreaker Times.
“Coach Nosa is already the head coach,” a source from the Perpetual camp, who refused to be named, told Tiebreaker Times.
“He has been handling team’s practices since December,” the source added.
A season ago, Perpetual initially had a three-man coaching team headed by Omorogbe, lawyer Barry Tobias, and school owner Antonio Tamayo. The school then decided to settle with Jimwell Gican for the season.
Gican, who steered the team to a fourth-place finish in Season 92’s Seniors Basketball tournament, is no longer with the team, another source added.
The Nigerian mentor will inherit a team that lost Bright Akhuetie to the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons during the off-season. Gab Dagangon, Prince Eze, and Kieth Pido will banner the Altas in their Season 93 campaign.
