No Ravena vs Jordan as Thirdy cut by Gilas in Amman

For the first time in the FIBA World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers, there will be no Ravena in a Gilas Pilipinas lineup.

Thirdy Ravena was cut for the Philippines’ game against Jordan at Prince Hamza Arena in Amman.

Thirdy’s brother Kiefer did not make the trip for Window 5 as well due to an emergency dental procedure.

The last time there was no Ravena in a Gilas lineup was during the Asia Cup Qualifiers last year in Clark.

Leading the Gilas XII are Adelaide’s Kai Sotto and Ateneo’s Angelo Kouame.

Also part of the team are overseas Filipino imports Dwight Ramos of Hokkaido and Nagoya’s Ray Parks.

PBA stars Ginebra’s Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, and Jamie Malonzo; CJ Perez of San Miguel Beer; and TNT’s Roger Pogoy, Calvin Oftana, and Poy Erram will also take on the Jordan team that is 3-3 in the standings.

Completing the squad is La Salle’s Kevin Quiambao.

Jordan, meanwhile, will be led by Freddy Ibrahim and Dar Tucker.

Ahmad Al Dwairi, Mohammad Hussein, Yousef Abuwazaneh, Zaid Abbas, Hashem Abbaas, Malek Kanaan, Caden Alnajdawi, Ashraf Alhendi, Ahmad Alhamarsheh, and Sami Bzai complete the team.
