NLEX terminates JR Quinahan’s contract

After a long and thorough investigation, NLEX management has decided to terminate the contract of JR Quinahan after it concluded that he committed multiple violations due to him playing in an unsanctioned game.

The Road Warriors made the announcement on Saturday.

“The NLEX Road Warriors have decided to terminate the remaining contract of Joseph Ronald “J. R.” Quiñahan.

“Following a thorough investigation, it was found that Quiñahan had committed several infractions of his Uniform Players’ Contract, including, among others, playing in unsanctioned games without seeking clearance from NLEX management and the Philippine Basketball Association,” the statement read.

Quinahan, who was traded to NLEX back in May 2017, was caught playing in a ‘ligang labas’ game last April 22 in Cebu.

He was also given a P50,000 fine by the PBA.

Quinahan did not play a single game in last season’s Commissioner’s and Governors’ Cups due to injury.

He still had eight months left in his contract.

With this, Quinahan is now a free agent.
