The NLEX Road Warriors will compete in the Summer Super 8 tournament to be held in Macau, China this July, the league announced via Facebook, Tuesday.
NLEX will be the second Filipino ball club to take part in the six-day cagefest, next to fellow PBA team Blackwater Elite. The Elite’s participation in the tilt was publicly known last June 27.
The Philippine contingents will face tough competition in the tournament, which will definitely help as they both prepare for the PBA’s season-ending 2018 Governor’s Cup.
Taiwan’s Formosa Dreamers; Japan’s Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka; Seoul Samsung Thunders and ETLAND Elephants of Korea; and Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers and Guangzhou Long Lions from China are all in the showpiece.
Only local players are allowed to join the tournament.
Recognized by FIBA, Asia League’s Summer Super 8 will be held from July 17 to 22 at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.
