NLEX appoints Larry Fonacier as team manager

Larry Fonacier will remain very much involved with NLEX post-retirement.

The 40-year-old has been named the Road Warriors’ new team manager, the ball club announced Saturday.

It marks yet another development in the franchise’s rebuild, which began when Yeng Guiao left his posts as head coach and general manager last September.

The champion mentor was the one who brought Fonacier to NLEX back in 2017 via trade, and the team has made it known that the ‘Babyface Assassin’ is part of their plans moving forward.

And that’s by giving him the aforementioned role, which is surely a whole new journey for the former Gilas Pilipinas stalwart.

A winner of seven PBA championships, Fonacier last played in the ongoing Commissioner’s Cup. He appeared for a total of seven games in the conference which proved to be his last dance.
