New PWNVT hopefuls attend second tryout


Several new players put their names in the running for slots in the 2019 Women’s National Team ans Under-23 squad.

Down from 37 in Day One, 18 players attended Day Two of the tryouts at the Arellano University Law School Gym.

New Cocolife libero Bang Pineda made her first appearance in the tryout.

2018 National Team campaigners Alyssa Valdez, Aby Maraño, Jia Morado, and Jema Galanza were also in attendance, together with Kalei Mau and Kyla Atienza.

Incoming University of Santo Tomas freshmen Ysa Jimenez and Mafe Galanza were among the new hopefuls for the Under-23 team. De La Salle – Zobel towers Angel Canino and Alleiah Malaluan were also present for the second day in a row.

Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. President Peter Cayco relayed that there could be considerations for athletes who did not attend either day of tryouts if they had other pressing commitments.
