Colegio de San Juan de Letran will not have two of its rotation players for Game Two of the NCAA Season 98 Seniors Basketball Finals.
Besides the automatic suspension of Kobe Monje due to an unsportsmanlike flagrant foul he did on Macoy Marcos, Kyle Tolentino has been meted a one-game suspension as well.
After a thorough review by the league last December 6, it was deemed that Tolentino “occupied the landing spot” of Miguel Oczon.
The incident happened just two minutes into the first quarter saw Oczon severely sprain his right ankle.
Meanwhile, the league has also reprimanded Pao Javillonar for unsportsmanlike behavior.
Midway through the third quarter, Javillonar was seen caressing Will Gozum in a peculiar place.
“He touched the private part of Gozum, in violation of applicable rules under the NCAA Manual of Operations on making provocative gestures; using foul gestures, and taunting and making fun of another player or person,” the statement read.
Javillonar was further required to issue an apology and render community service as a rehabilitative measure.
Stricter sanctions will be meted on Javillonar if he commits an act similar to what he did last Sunday, the statement continued.
“Finally Javillonar was directed to consistently observe the core values of the athletic association in promoting camaraderie, good values and friendly athletic competition.”
