NCAA reverts to double-headers; San Beda vs Lyceum to tip off Season 100

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) of the Philippines will revert to a two-games-per-day format for the first round of the Season 100 Seniors Basketball Tournament.

Games will continue to take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The opening day will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, while the rest of the first-round games will be hosted at the Filoil Ecooil Centre.

The Grand Old League will kick off its season on September 7 with a two-hour opening ceremony scheduled to begin at noon.

Following the ceremony, defending champion San Beda will face host Lyceum at 2:00 PM, with Mapua going up against Saint Benilde at 5:00 PM.

On Sunday, Letran will start its campaign against San Sebastian at 12:00 PM, followed by a match-up between Arellano and Emilio Aguinaldo College at 2:30 PM.

Olsen Racela will make his Perpetual debut against JRU on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.

The highlight of the September 10 playdate is a potential finals preview between the Blazers and the Red Lions.

For the “Intramuros triangle”, Letran will take on Mapua on September 20, Lyceum will face Mapua on September 24, and Letran will battle Lyceum on October 5.

Meanwhile, Emilio Aguinaldo College will have its first opportunity to end its long-standing losing streak against San Beda on September 21.

The Strong Group-backed schools, CSB and Letran, will meet for their first clash of the season on September 22.

The Blazers will also face the Heavy Bombers on October 6.

The first round will conclude with a highly anticipated finals rematch between the Red Lions and the Cardinals on October 8 – a playdate featuring only this marquee game.
