NCAA postpones games due to tropical depression Jenny

The NCAA has moved Tuesday’s triple-header due to inclement weather.

The league made the announcement in the early morning because of the class suspensions caused by Tropical Depression Jenny.

“Due to the late suspension of classes, the games for Tuesday, 27 August 2019 are CANCELED and shall be played on a date and time to be determined,” read NCAA president Peter Cayco’s statement. “Tickets for canceled games today shall be honored on the rescheduled date.”

The showdown between Final Four hopefuls Letran Knights (5-3) and St. Benilde Blazers (5-2) would have been the headliner to the three-game slate.

Blazers head coach TY Tang was supposed to serve his one-game suspension in this game. He will not be around when St. Benilde face the JRU Heavy Bombers on Friday.

Other games slated for the day are the San Beda Red Lions (8-0) taking on the streaking Mapua Cardinals (3-5). The Arellano Chiefs (2-6) versus the San Sebastian Golden Stags (4-3) would have closed out the day.

All games will be moved to Tuesday, September 3.

This is the second time this slate of games has been moved, as they were supposed to take place last August 6.
