Colegio de San Juan de Letran’s Chamberlaine Cuñada and Lara Mae Silva did the unthinkable on Saturday.
Cunada and Silva scored a massive upset over the erstwhile-undefeated tandem of Mary Rhose Dupol and Janine Padua of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, taking a 21-17, 21-12 victory, to claim the NCAA Season 98 Women’s Beach Volleyball crown in Subic, Zambales.
This is Letran’s second-ever beach volleyball title and second championship for the ongoing season.
Cunada was crowned as the league MVP.
The Lady Knights defeated Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Catherine Almazan and Monna Banares, 21-8, 21-6 to advance to the finale.
Perpetual, on the other hand, ousted San Beda’s Trisha Mae Paras and Maxine Joyce Tayag in the other bracket, 21-17, 21-10.
