NBL: Sotto shines anew in second start as Adelaide evens slate


Kai Sotto is starting to ease in as a starter for Adelaide.

In his second career start, the 7-foot-3 Filipino helped the 36ers pick up a 93-82 win over Tasmania in the 2022-23 NBL Season, Monday at Adelaide Entertainment Center.

Sotto produced a line of nine points, three rebounds, and two blocks as Adelaide evened its slate to 8-8.

Adelaide trailed 75-69 with seven minutes left before Antonius Cleveland scored eight in a 10-0 spurt to give the 36ers a four-point edge.

Cleveland, Anthony Drmic, and Sunday Dech put the finishing touches to score the 36ers’ second straight win.

Cleveland got 20 points and 10 rebounds while Drmic added 16 markers.

Dech and Robert Franks chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Milton Doyle led Tasmania with 18 points and six rebounds.

The Jackjumpers dropped to 8-8.

Adelaide will next face South East Melbourne on Saturday.
