Kai Sotto was a picture of efficiency during Adelaide’s 91-86 win over Melbourne in the 2022-23 NBL Season, Thursday at John Cain Arena.
Fresh off another impressive stint with Gilas, the 7-foot-3 Filipino beanpole tallied eight points on 3-of-4 shooting with four rebounds in 17 minutes of action.
Though playing the most minutes he has had so far in the season, Sotto was not fielded in the final frame.
Melbourne had numerous chances to steal Adelaide’s thunder in the contest but steady free throw shooting by Robert Franks in the endgame sealed the win.
The 36ers, who rose to a 4-4 record in the standings, got their third straight win.
Franks tallied a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds while Anthony Drmic tallied 21 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Antonius Cleveland added 15 points as well.
Rayjon Tucker led the United, who fell to 5-6, with 23 points. Xavier Rathan-Mayes got 15 markers as well in the loss.
Adelaide will next face New Zealand on Sunday.
