Despite getting limited production from Kai Sotto, Adelaide still pulled out an 82-70 stunner over Perth in the 2021-22 National Basketball League season, Thursday evening at RAC Arena.
Coming off a career outing that saw him drop 21 points against Brisbane last Monday, Sotto was limited to just 12 minutes of gametime against the Wildcats as he was plagued with fouls all game long.
Sotto ended up with two points and three rebounds.
Still, it was a field day for the 36ers.
Adelaide raced to a 30-15 with Dusty Hannahs and Sunday Dech firing on all cylinders.
The game never got close with the 36ers’ lead going to as high as 21 points, 67-46, with 3:26 left in the third canto.
Sotto, who was assessed two of his four fouls in the third frame, did not enter the game in the final quarter.
Dech, Hannahs, and Daniel Johnson all breached the 20-point mark in the contest.
Dech got 23 points, nine rebounds, and two steals while Johnson also got 23 points and six rebounds. Hannahs also chipped in 21 points.
With the win, Adelaide snapped its four-game skid to rise to 8-17 in the standings.
Perth, who dropped to 15-10 but still remained in the top four, had Victor Law lead the way with 20 points. Matthew Hodgson added 16 points and six rebounds.
Adelaide will next face Sydney at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.
