Kai Sotto was foul-saddled and turnover-prone during Adelaide’s 84-76 win over South East Melbourne in the 2022 NBL Blitz preseason tournament, Friday at Darwin Basketball Facility.
In 14 minutes and 18 seconds of play, the 7-foot-3 Filipino had four turnovers and committed three fouls that resulted to just two points and five rebounds.
Still, it was an impressive win for the 36ers, who led by as many as 22 points in the game while limiting the Phoenix to just a 35-percent shooting clip from the field.
The Phoenix also shot themselves in the foot by going just 10-of-25 from the foul stripe.
Four 36ers scored in double-figures, led by the the 16-point outing of Craig Randall.
Mitch Mccarron tallied 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals while Antonius Cleveland produced 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Nick Marshall also chipped in 11 markers from off the bench duties.
Kyle Adnam paced SE Melbourne with 19 points while Alan Williams added 13 points and seven boards.
Up next for Adelaide are Tasmania on Monday.
