For the third straight NBA Summer League game, Kai Sotto did not play for Orlando.
The 7-foot-3 Filipino big man was once again on the bench in the Magic’s 80-82 overtime defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks on Thursday morning (Manila time) at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sotto was also a DNP during Orlando’s losses to Detroi and Indiana.
He will get a one last shot of playing when the Magic face the Portland Trailblazers on Friday.
Still, it was a tough loss for the Magic as a buzzer-beating tip by Jaylen Martin in overtime handed their third defeat in as many games.
Three Knicks players scored in double-figures with Charlie Brown Jr. leading the way with 19 points and six rebounds.
QJ Peterson got 16 points and nine rebounds while Martin added 12 markers.
Jett Howard paced the Magic with 22 points while Quinndary Weatherspoon and Anthony Black chipped in 17 points and 14 rebounds, respectively.
