Jockeying for crucial semifinals seeding, Motolite turned back Jovelyn Gonzaga and the PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers in straight-sets, 25-21, 25-23, 25-14, in the 2019 PVL Open Conference, Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Motolite has now tied the idle BanKo Perlas Spikers in third place with identical 10-5 cards. The two teams sit behind second-seeded Petro Gazz Angels (10-4) and league-leader Creamline (14-0).
Motolite continued to lean on the firepower of prolific scorers Tots Carlos and Isa Molde. Carlos flashed her all-around brilliance with 14 points, 10 excellent digs and five excellent receptions, while Molde powered 10 markers.
This time, though, the UP Lady Maroon duo were not the only ones dealing damage for Motolite. Grizzled hitter Myla Pablo churned out her best scoring performance a month after sustaining a metatarsal sprain, powering 14 points built on all attacks.
