Myla Pablo deflected to her teammates after she exploded for 27 points in F2 Logistics’ thrilling come-from-behind victory over Creamline on Saturday night.
Pablo hammered down 22 points and rejected five attacks to lift the Cargo Movers past the Cool Smashers in a nail-biting five-set affair, 23-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 16-14, in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena.
“Yung puntos naman po, puntos ng lahat talaga kasi lahat naman talaga pinaghirapan namin and hindi naman mananalo ang isa kung wala yung mga kasama namin sa loob,” said Pablo after the emotional win.
The two-time league MVP also nailed crucial hits in the contest, particularly in the fourth set where she took over and scored three of the team’s final four points — which includes a single block on Michele Gumabao that pushed F2 Logistics at match point — to force a deciding fifth frame.
Pablo said that she could not have done it without the help of her teammates, especially team captain Aby Maraño, who helped lift her confidence after committing a crucial service error in the fifth set that almost gave Creamline the victory.
“Yung team captain namin si ate Aby [Maraño] na lagi nagreremind sa amin na, atin to.
“So parang feel namin nung pumasok si ate Aby yung kumpyansa namin sa loob ng court parang naging motivation namin. And then sa mga coaches namin always kami nire-remind na kung ano yung ginagawa ng Creamline, kailangan ‘wag namin sabayan,” she added.
Pablo was also glad to finally get one over the Cool Smashers, who she has yet to beat after almost two years until now.
“Syempre sobrang happy din kasi F2 players ‘yan and champion team so I’m really happy na isa ako sa nandon, na naipanalo namin yung Creamline game. I think first time ko rin ata na matalo yung Creamline since nung Petro Gazz pa ako so itong nandito na ako sa F2 saka ko nakuha yung win.”
Pablo and the Cargo Movers will next face Cignal on Saturday at 6:30 PM.
