Northport continues to make moves.
The Batang Pier figured is set to figure another transaction that will net them Joshua Munzon and Javi Gomez de Liano.
In exchange, Terrafirma will receive Kevin Ferrer, MJ Ayaay, and second round picks in two future PBA Rookie Drafts (2023 and 2025).
Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation told Tiebreaker Times that the proposal is just waiting for league approval.
Munzon, the first overall pick in the 2021 PBA Rookie Draft, saw his scoring dip in the four conferences he played in the league.
The 6-foot-4 swingman averaged a career-best 19.0 points to go along with 4.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in the 2022 PBA Governors’ Cup.
However, he only put up numbers of 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest in the Philippine Cup and 8.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 steals in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Gomez de Liano was the eighth overall pick in the 2022 Draft but was traded by Ginebra to Terrafirma.
In the two conferences he had with the Dyip, the Gilas draftee normed 6.52 points, 3.04 rebounds, and 1.26 assists in 23 games played.
The two are looking to be integral parts of the Batang Pier.
Terrafirma, meanwhile, receives two veterans.
Ferrer, a six-year vet, has been linked in numerous trades since arriving in Northport back in 2019.
In 25 games played this conference, the sweet-shooting 6-foot-5 winger put up numbers of 9.4 points and 2.4 rebounds.
Ayaay, a four-year vet, is a do-it-all 6-foot-1 guard who played 19 games this season. He previously played for Alaska and Ginebra as well.
