MPL PH: RSG bounces back, outlasts Blacklist to rise to fourth

Following a challenging defeat against ONIC PH, RSG PH made a strong comeback, defeating Blacklist International 2-1 in the MPL Philippines Season 12 regular season at the Shooting Gallery Studios on Saturday night.

Despite being outmaneuvered in the final Lord fight, the Tier One-backed squad still managed to gain a slight advantage in the 17th minute after Stephen “Sensui” Castillo (Fredrinn) landed a crucial Retribution, stealing the Lord from RSG PH.

Down a hero after Kiel “Oheb” Soriano (Karrie) fell during the objective tug-of-war, Blacklist International executed a flawless base defense that resulted in a four-man wipe and ultimately secured their victory in Game 1.

Oheb finished with six kills, three deaths, and three assists in the 19-minute win, while Edward “Edward” Dapadap’s Benedetta contributed with three kills and four assists against one death.

RSG PH didn’t back down easily and delivered a statement victory in Game 2, where they obtained a 9K gold advantage as early as the 10th minute before sealing the win after securing the first Lord.

Arvie “Aqua” Calderon’s Gord led the Raiders with a flawless 4-0-7 performance, while Eman “Emann” Sangco’s Ixia contributed with four kills and six assists against one death in the 15-2 victory in 11 minutes and 22 seconds.

Despite a setback in Game 3, RSG PH completed a 21-7 win in 15 minutes and 36 seconds of action.

Aqua once again shone for the Raiders with eight kills and 11 assists against two deaths on Gord, while Dylan “Light” Catipon finished with four kills and 12 assists against just one death.

The victory elevated RSG PH to the fourth spot with a 5-4 win-loss record, while Blacklist International slid to fifth place with a 5-4 card.
