MJ Phillips back in action for Petro Gazz

Petro Gazz’s powerhouse team has just been completed on Wednesday morning.

MJ Phillips is coming back to the Angels just in time for the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

The 28-year-old middle blocker played for Gwangju AI Peppers in the Korean Volleyball League as she was the only Filipina drafted in the Asian Quota Draft.

Prior to leaving the country last July, Phillips had been on the rise. She won the Best Middle Blocker plums during the 2022 Reinforced Conference and the 2023 First All-Filipino Conference.

She was selected fifth overall in the 2023 KOVO Asian Quota Draft.

With Phillips out, the Angels struggled, finishing ninth in the Invitational Conference and sixth in the Second All-Filipino Conference.

Now, the Koji Tsuzurabara-coached team, who won the PNVF Champions League last weekend, will have a loaded team with the likes of her, Myla Pablo, Brooke Van Sickle, Jonah Sabete, and Remy Palma.
