Australia has welcomed back a World Cup veteran to the Boomers for its Window 2 campaign in the FIBA World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers.
Mitch Creek is back with the Boomers for the first time since the 2019 World Cup.
The 6-foot-6 guard, who currently plays for U-BT Cluj-Napoca, is one of six veterans selected by Basketball Australia for their two road games — first against Guam on February 26, followed by a clash with the Philippines on March 1.
Two-time Olympian Nick Kay, who plays for Shimane, will anchor the team alongside Jack White, David Okwera, Sam Froling, Reyne Smith, Elijah Pepper, and Isaac White.
Making their debut for the Boomers are Tanner Krebs, Jacob Holt, and Kody Stattmann.
Australia enters Window 2 with a 2-0 record in Group A, having swept New Zealand in both their home and away games during Window 1.
The Boomers will visit the Philippines for the first time since the infamous 2018 “basketbrawl” at the Philippine Arena.
