Milena Alessandrini expected to miss two weeks


University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses open hitter Milena Alessandrini may miss up to two weeks due to a partial tear on her left ACL, according to a report by the Varsitarian, UST’s official student publication.

The Fil-Italian sophomore suffered the injury last Saturday during the second set of what turned out to be a loss to Far Eastern University.

Potentially missing two weeks means the 6-foor-2 Alessandrini will be out for the rest of UST’s first round schedule.

The Tigresses have a 2-2 record with a matchup against 3-1 defending champions DLSU Lady Spikers next on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Without Alessandrini, UST has mostly opted to shift their lineup and have rookie Eya Laura play the second open hitter spot while Dimdim Pacres fills the opposite hitter slot.
