Mighty Sports locks up Kiefer Ravena for Dubai International

The pieces for Mighty Sports’ Dubai Invitational Basketball Tournament campaign are starting to take shape

Former Ateneo Blue Eagle and current NBA D-Leaguer Kiefer Ravena will once again suit-up for Mighty Sports in its campaign in the 2017 Dubai Invitational Basketball Tournament.

The 23-year-old is currently signed with the Texas Legends but was allowed to join Mighty Sports according to the team’s head coach Charles Tiu.

Ravena has been a mainstay with Mighty Sports, suiting up for them in the PCBL and during the 2016 Merlion Cup. During the finale of the Merlion Cup, Ravena went on a classic duel with Jimmer Fredette. However, Mighty fell to Fredette’s Shanghai Sharks, 77-78, to bring home silver in the tournament.

Aside from Ravena and former Ginebra import Justin Brownlee, the team also locked up the services of 7-foot-3 Tanzanian Hasheem Thabeet.

Thabeet, 29, was the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He is currently playing in the NBA D-League.

The tournament will run from February 18 to 25 at the Al Ahli Club in Dubai, UAE.
