Meralco wants to move on from ‘forgettable’ loss to Alaska

Everyone from the Meralco side got their worst beating ever in their PBA career.

“I’ve never been beaten like this. It’s a pretty bad loss, but what can we do?,” head coach Norman Black told media men. “Nobody is happy when you’re beaten by 40 points. Management isn’t happy, I’m not happy and the players are not happy.” “It’s just one loss. We need to play our hearts out on Wednesday. We have to move forward.”

Even Gary David, who has had his share of playing for teams with mediocre records, hasn’t experienced such a beating. Not since college.

“Hindi ko pa naranasan yung ganito sa PBA, pero sa Lyceum dati na-experience ko na,” said David. “Nangyayari talaga yan, ganyan talaga. Pero lesson learned sa amin ito.”

“Pero ba-bounce back kami. Nag-usap-usap na kami ng mga teammates ko kung paano kami makakabawi.”

Hardworking forward Sean Anthony guaranteed this kind of game won’t happen again for them.

“We won’t come out with that kind of effort again. We’re going out fighting at least,” added Anthony. “Definitely, you’ll see a different Meralco team next game. That’s for sure.”
