Despite being 39 years of age, Mark Yee still showed that he still got it.
The 6-foot-3 native of Sagay City, Negros Occidental was hailed as the 2021 Chooks-to-Go MPBL Finals Most Valuable Player.
And it was undisputed as he averaged 13.5 points, 10.25 rebounds, 2.75 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks during the four-game series.
Making it more epic was his Finals moment.
Down by two and down 86-88, Yee drained the championship-clinching triple with 13.4 seconds left in Game Four.
He finished the game with 19 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.
Yee shared that it was not him who delivered over the past two weeks inside Subic Bay Gymnasium.
“Unang-una, hindi ko gawa ‘to, gawa ng Panginoon ito. Ang ginawa po namin ay nagtiwala kami sa Kanya at nagtulong-tulong kami,” he said.
In the season that spanned two years, Yee played 40 games. By the looks of things, he is still game when he turns 40 next year.
Davao Occidental head coach Don Dulay was crowned as the Chooks-to-Go MPBL Coach of the Year, on the other hand.
