Mark Magsayo ready to thrill in MP Promotions debut

Mark Magsayo is all set for his MP Promotions debut. His bout with Rigoberto Hermosillo is all systems to go, as of Saturday morning (Philippine time) at Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The 25-year-old Filipino checked in at 127 pounds for his bout, which will serve as the headliner of PBC Fight Night on Fox Sports 1.

His Mexican foe, on the other hand, weighed 126.6 pounds.

Magsayo — who is 20-0 in his young career — will be facing a less experienced fighter in Hermosillo (11-2-1, 8KOs). Still, MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons knows that his pugilist will be in for a tough night.

“He’s fighting a tough Mexican. The guy doesn’t have a big record, but he has a lot of fights amateur wise in Mexico,” Gibbons said.

The bout takes place on Sunday morning.
