Fresh from clinching his inaugural international title, Marck Espejo is set to make his return to the Philippines following his departure from Incheon Korean Air last Friday.
Alongside him, opposite spikers Murad Khan of Pakistan and Maxim Zhigalov of Russia have also been released by the Korean V-League champions.
Expressing his sentiments in a farewell video, Espejo announced his intention to reunite with his mother club, Criss Cross, for the ongoing Spikers’ Turf Open Conference.
Moreover, he revealed plans to join the Philippine men’s national volleyball team as they gear up for the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship.
Espejo, a former Spikers’ Turf MVP, now joins the ranks of esteemed Filipino players such as Jaja Santiago, Bryan Bagunas, Celine Domingo, and Jia De Guzman, as one of the select few who have secured a title overseas.
During his tenure with Incheon, Espejo showcased his prowess in 23 matches throughout the elimination round, amassing a commendable total of 111 points with an impressive 53.25-percent attack rate.
However, he was notably absent from their pivotal best-of-five championship series against Ansan OK Financial Group.
The question now is – will he suit up for Criss Cross when it takes on Cignal on Sunday at Philsports Arena?
Previously, Bryan Bagunas immediately suited up for the HD Spikers just days after winning the Top Volleyball League title with Win Streak.
Both the King Crunchers and the HD Spikers are 4-0 in the ongoing Spikers’ Turf Open Conference.
