Mar Prado lifted Adamson University to the win column, leading her team to an 82-57 win over the University of the East Lady Warriors, Wednesday afternoon at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion.
The third-year standout finished with 39 points to go along with eight rebounds. And she was pivotal during the Lady Falcons’ second-half surge.
Up by just three entering the second half, Prado was unstoppable in the paint. She powered the Lady Falcons to a lead that went to as high as 22 points, 73-51, with three minutes left in the game.
Adamson head coach Ewon Arayi was pleased with how Adamson turned it around after their lopsided loss against the NU Lady Bulldogs last Saturday.
“As I always say nga [na] winning is not everything to me. What is important to me as a coach, and even as a player before, is how you play the game,” she said.
The Lady Red Warriors started the game on a good note, but foul trouble hounded main gunner Tin Cortizano.
Kat Araja was the other Adamson player in double digits with 10 points to go along with six assists. Lhyn Bilbao hauled down 13 boards as well.
Cortizano finished with 11 points for UE with eight rebounds. Nins Cuadero and Jearzy Ganade pinched in 10 markers apiece.
