Manu Inigo will be reunited with his trusted wards Justine Sanchez, Tony Ynot, and Gab Cometa as he joins the College of Saint Benilde coaching staff under Charles Tiu for NCAA Season 101.
Inigo and Strong Group president Jacob Lao confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times after the University of Santo Tomas’ 80-72 win over Far Eastern University-Diliman on Thursday.
“Another opportunity ito and very thankful ako kay Boss Frank at Boss Jacob (Lao) for this opportunity,” Inigo told Tiebreaker Times.
“Excited na rin ako makasama sila Coach Charles at siyempre makakasama ko ulit ang mga Red Cubs boys ko.”
This move marks Inigo’s return to the NCAA after being dismissed by San Beda in 2021. He is currently coaching the UST Tiger Cubs in the UAAP.
Despite taking on a new role, Inigo assured that there would be no conflict between his commitments to UST and CSB.
“Magkaiba naman yung season and assistant coach naman ako sa Benilde. Focus ko pa rin ay dito sa UST at makuha natin yung championship,” he said.
