Mandapat, Bernardo replace Valdez, Sato in PWNVT


Rizza Mandapat and Lorie Bernardo will step up for Alyssa Valdez and Risa Sato in the 2022 AVC Cup for Women, which starts on Sunday at the PhilSports Arena.

Opposite hitter Michele Gumabao shared, “Aside from Alyssa Valdez, Risa Sato will be also sitting out for the AVC [Cup]. Two of our players who are not part of the original roster namely Rizza Mandapat and Lorie Bernardo will be joining for this tournament.

“The pressure is there, but ‘yung good vibes ng Creamline Cool Smashers ‘yung gusto naming dalhin dito sa international competition,” the former PVL Best Opposite Hitter added.

Valdez was reported to have contracted dengue, while Sato was withdrawn also due to health reasons.

Meanwhile, acting captain Jia De Guzman and head coach Sherwin Meneses remained a game-time decision due to health protocols.

Composing the rest of the team are Tots Carlos, Jema Galanza, Ced Domingo, Jeanette Panaga, Ella de Jesus, Pau Soriano, Kyla Atienza, Fille Cayetano, Kyle Negrito, and Rose Vargas.
