Mallillin commits to Ateneo

Former De La Salle University Green Archers-commit Troy Mallillin is moving to Katipunan to join the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, as confirmed by sources closely monitoring the situation to Tiebreaker Times.

“He has already been practicing with Ateneo,” said one of the sources.

Mallillin, 17, is a 6-foot-2 forward who led La Salle Greenhills to a 13-5 finish during the 92nd Season of the NCAA. During that year, he posted norms of 19.2 points on 43 percent shooting to go along with 9.3 rebounds en route to the NCAA Season 92 Juniors MVP crown.

He is the fourth ranked senior in the national high school rankings, behind John Lloyd Clemente, Juan Gomez De Liano, and Jonas Tibayan.

Mallillin had initially committed to La Salle before deciding to choose another school. The University of Santo Tomas were the other team in contention to tap his services.

He will join Isaac Go, Vince Tolentino, Chibueze Ikeh, and Raffy Verano to form the team’s frontline.
