Majoy Baron embraces change in move to PLDT

For seven of the eight years in her club career, Majoy Baron had been donning F2 Logistics’ familiar yellow and black.

Next month, she is set to wear hues she is not familiar with—the colors of PLDT.

Majoy Baron is the second key pick-up made by the High-Speed Hitters for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League season.

She joins setter Kim Fajardo on the team. For the 28-year-old native of Concepcion, Tarlac, no longer being under the watch of Ramil de Jesus and playing with teammates outside of La Salle is something she is unfamiliar with. But it’s the uncertainty that excites her.PVL-2023-F2-vs.-Choco-Mucho-Majoy-Baron-7910 Majoy Baron embraces change in move to PLDT News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“‘Yung thought na everything I learned from La Salle and F2, lalawak pa because I’m in a new system makes me really excited,” she said as she gets to learn under former PVL champion coach Rald Ricafort.

“Every new coach and every new teammate, I intend to learn from them.” Baron has won at every level of competition.

Baron is a three-time UAAP champion and a former MVP.

In the club scene, she also won MVP honors in the defunct Philippine Superliga.

Baron has also made the national team numerous times.

Now, she is writing a new chapter in her career with PLDT.

“I’m coming into the PLDT team as a student of the sport. Hopefully, I ace this challenge as well,” she said.
