Lorenz Senoron, Savouge remain undeterred heading to Criss Cross clash

Savouge Aesthetics, riding a three-game winning streak, is aiming for a late playoff push in the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference.

The Spin Doctors kicked off the new season of the men’s league organized by Sports Vision but stumbled three times in a row, resulting in a 1-3 record.

Their most recent defeat occurred against PGJC-Navy, whom they managed to push to five sets before ultimately running out of steam.

Then came the resurgence of Savouge. They secured three consecutive victories against Philippine Air Force, Richmarc Sports 3B, and Maverick, all in straight sets.

According to team captain Lorenz Señoron, this late surge is the result of the Spin Doctors’ chemistry and cohesion developing throughout the tournament, which is streamed live at spikersturf.ph.

“Isa sa nakita kong pagbabago ay talagang mas lumalaban na kami ngayon,” said Señoron on Sunday after their win over the Hard Hitters.

“Mas pinagtrabahuhan kasi namin yung jelling ng team nang sa gayon ay iisa lang ang galaw namin sa loob ng court,” he continued.

This winning streak has propelled Savouge to a 4-3 record, placing them just half a game behind D’Navigators, who hold fourth place at 4-2.

However, to secure a spot in the semifinals, the Spin Doctors must pull off a massive upset against the favored Criss Cross in their upcoming clash on Friday.

They must also hope that D’Navigators lose their remaining games against RichMarc and Navy.

Señoron acknowledged that they are at a disadvantage against the King Crunchers, who currently hold a 6-1 record, but he vowed that they will give their best effort to try and cause an upset.

“Hindi kami nage-expect na magiging maganda para sa amin. Pagtatrabahuhan na lang namin kasi meron pa namang ilang araw para mag-training,” said Señoron.

“And lahat ng mga pagkakamali nitong game na ito, ita-try namin na itama para mabigyan namin ng magandang laban yung Criss Cross.”
