There will be no shortage of heart-stopping action when the previously recorded “ONE on TNT III” airs this Thursday at 8:30 a.m. on One Sports.
Number-one ranked bantamweight contender John “Hands Of Stone” Lineker looks to build his resume in the organization when he battles “Pretty Boy” Troy Worthen in what is expected to be a back-and-forth match between two of the best in the division.
Worthen steps up for Team Lakay’s Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, who was initially set to take on Lineker but had to pull out from his debut because of COVID-19 precautions.
Though the highly-anticipated clash had to be scratched, it’ll still be an interesting bout between the red-hot Lineker and rebounding Worthen.
Lineker has yet to taste defeat in The Home Of Martial Arts, beating Muin “Tajik” Gafurov via unanimous decision in his debut before knocking out former ONE Bantamweight World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon in his last appearance.
Another impressive win here for “Hands Of Stone” will certainly cement his status as the next challenger to longtime divisional king Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes.
While Lineker has been on a tear, Worthen is on the mend after experiencing the first loss of his mixed martial arts career.
Worthen dropped a decision loss to Yusup “Maestro” Saadulaev, but that will all be forgotten if he can be the first man in ONE to beat Lineker.
Aside from the action-packed main event, two of the best flyweights are set to go at it in a battle for divisional rankings.
Number-four ranked Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu takes on no. 5-ranked Fil-Aussie Reece “Lightning” McLaren with the winner gaining ground in the already loaded weight class.
The lead card also offers interesting matches, starting with the clash of two striking legends as John Wayne Parr and Nieky “The Natural” Holzken slug it out in a three-round ONE Super Series Muay Thai bout.
Former ONE Featherweight World Champion Marat “Cobra” Gafurov and the debuting Ok Rae Yoon are also set to tangle in a three-round lightweight match, with the winner going on to face Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez at “ONE on TNT IV” next week.
Alvarez returns after his controversial bout at “ONE on TNT I,” where he was disqualified for landing illegal blows to the back of Iuri Lapicus’ head.
