Defending champion Pampanga continued its dominant showing, routing Laguna, 116-73, for its second straight blowout win in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go NBL Chairman’s Cup at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, Sunday.
Levi Hernandez erupted for 35 big points on a very efficient 13-of-18 clip from the field, including 6-of-9 shooting from deep. He also had four assists, four steals, and three rebounds.
That performance by Hernandez lifted the Delta to a 2-0 win-loss card, tied with La Union for the second spot.
Just like last night, Pampanga cruised to a big lead right from the get-go, leading 35-19 after the first period en route to the wire-to-wire triumph.
A three-pointer by Encho Serrano put the Delta ahead by 47, 106-59, the biggest lead of the game.
Pampanga’s Ronan Santos grabbed a huge double-double of 10 points and 15 rebound. Meanwhile, Mark Tamayo was a maestro, finishing with 14 assists.
CJ Gania also contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, while Serrano had 12 points, all from behind the arc, to go with seven assists.
Alex Junsay tallied 18 points, five rebounds, and four turnovers for the struggling Pistons, which fell to 0-3.
Sean Sandoval got 14 points but took 24 attempts, while King Fadriquela delivered 15 points and seven assists.
After a double-double performance yesterday, Kevin Martin was limited to just three shots for two points.
