Letran Stays in the Family: Allen Ricardo named interim Knights head coach

Colegio de San Juan de Letran did not look far during its search for a new Knights head coach.

The 20-time NCAA seniors basketball champions have tapped reigning juniors basketball Coach of the Year Allen Ricardo as head coach on an interim basis.

The school is still currently in a buyout process with head coach Rensy Bajar.

In his one year with Letran, Bajar finished with a school-worst 2-16 record during NCAA Season 99.

Meanwhile — during that same calendar year, Ricardo steered the Squires to the NCAA Season 98 title with an 11-1 record.

With Ricardo now taking the job, it is most likely that Grade 12 studs Jonathan Manalili and George Diamante will remain at Letran.
